19 of Medvedev's 21 championships have been achieved on hard courts
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.
The Russian, a ex- number one, has experienced a difficult year, managing just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.
Medvedev's varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his service game in especial - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately separating with former coach Gilles Cervara.
Currently training with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - peaking in a hard-fought three-set win over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's initial championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt after that period of the previous year.
Victory also means he has won twenty-one titles at 21 various tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a event with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," commented world number 14 the champion.
"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I won when my child her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his past six championship matches, featuring in Halle previously this season.
The player's counter-punching play style and recurring reactions on the tennis court had led observers to wonder if his ability to perform at the elite level was finished.
Yet the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the past month, attempting to approach the net and perform aggressively, reinforced by an improved serving game.
He came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult Frenchman, winning four of the concluding five points to gain the advantage.
The competitors swapped break points in the second set before the Frenchman, attempting for his maiden ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to push for a decider.
Moutet rescued four early-game chances in a close final set before the champion broke to 15 to secure the win.
Suitably, Medvedev clinched the title with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman failing to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
