2K Games has welcomed a seasoned producer from Respawn Entertainment to lead the development team at their internal studio, which is currently crafting the forthcoming third-person action-packed title known as this innovative game.
Brinkman assumes the role of studio head at 31st Union following the dismissal of previous head the ex-Sledgehammer Games executive, who was removed from his post due to Project Ethos' disappointing unveiling last fall.
On Wednesday, the company's top executive David Ismailer notified team members about this strategic move through an internal memo, which emphasized that playtesting had revealed the need for a distinct game identity.
The president stated that the developers is now overhauling Project Ethos with a revised vision, aiming to address community desires.
This announcement follows a similar action taken by the publisher in the summer, when they recruited Rod Fergusson from the Diablo team to assist with the beloved franchise studio Cloud Chamber.
Here is the full message from the president's communication:

The belief in this project grows every day. To advance the outstanding development you’ve made, It is a pleasure to welcome Ben Brinkman as the latest Lead of 31st Union. After a period of discussions, he comes aboard us on Monday, October 20.
Ben’s leadership and experience in the competitive gaming space is extensive, having spent the last 15 years producing and leading some of the most popular series in the industry, including the acclaimed shooter, and lately, the battle royale hit.
Please join me in greeting him next week. We are all looking forward to continue observing the progress of the game in the weeks to follow.
